ABOUT

SWOP AMBASSADORS

 

SWOP Ambassadors is a Sex Worker-Led and Run Organization which was formed in 2014 and registered in 2016. Our membership is multicultural (Kenyans, Ugandans, Tanzanians, Somali among others) .We work in Nairobi county at ward, sub county, county and national levels. Swop ambassadors advocate for universal access to friendly HIV/AIDS, Sexual and reproductive health services. We speak about violence against sex workers, oppose human rights abuses and challenge unfriendly laws. We exist to strengthen voices, empower, advocate for and advance health and human rights of sex workers. We have established a wide range of networks of facilitative and supportive stakeholders

 

WHAT WE DO

Health & Human rights advocacy

Swop Ambassadors is aware that sex workers in Kenya are often subject to violence, both in their personal lives and at work.

Structural intervention

Swop Ambassadors engages with different stakeholders in advocating for policies that create an enabling environment for sex workers.

Economic empowerment

Swop Ambassadors has continued to encourage sex work groups to start sustainable enterprises such as soap making to aid in their sustainability and as an alternative source of livelihoods amongst them.
